Mark Morgan Former Senior Human Resources Manager, NextEra Energy, Inc and Author of The M.A.D. Safety Book for Leaders

Mark L. Morgan is a renowned leader in workplace safety with decades of experience at Fortune 200 companies, including NextEra Energy, where he transformed safety performance from the fourth quartile to top-decile levels. His leadership extended to creating innovative programs like peer-to-peer coaching, safety branding initiatives, and corporate-wide safety surveys that improved team engagement and organizational culture.

Prior to his time at NextEra, Mark managed the workers’ compensation program at American Airlines, further honing his expertise in safety, risk management, and disability claims. His career reflects a passion for reducing risks, fostering accountability, and empowering teams to embrace safety as a shared priority.

As the founding Chair of the Florida Chamber Leadership Cabinet on Safety, Health & Sustainability, Mark continues to advance safety standards across Florida. Dr. Heather Flynn, Ph.D. Professor and Chair, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine, FSU College of Medicine

Dr. Heather A. Flynn is a nationally recognized expert in mental health care integration, with over 25 years of experience advancing behavioral health solutions. As Chair of Behavioral Sciences at FSU College of Medicine, she leads efforts to improve mental health care delivery in workplaces, medical settings, and communities.

Dr. Flynn’s leadership includes serving on the Florida Governor’s Mental Health Task Force, Opioid Task Force, and Statewide Suicide Prevention Task Force, where she has driven impactful initiatives to foster resilience and improve mental health outcomes. Her work includes developing evidence-based treatments like Motivational Interviewing and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

Passionate about collaborative solutions, Dr. Flynn equips leaders with practical tools to create supportive cultures and address mental health challenges. Her session will empower attendees with actionable strategies to build resilience and prioritize mental wellness in their organizations.
