Course Description

In April 2022, OSHA introduced Directive CPL 03-00-024, titled "National Emphasis Program Outdoor and Indoor Heat-Related Hazards." Heat-related illnesses and fatalities are a pressing concern, every year dozens of workers die and thousands more become ill while working in extreme heat or humid conditions. In 2019 alone there were 43 reported work-related fatalities due to environmental heat. Prioritizing your employees' well-being with Heat Stress Prevention training is essential.

There are a wide range of heat illnesses and they can affect anyone, regardless of age or physical condition. Heat is a year-round job hazard in a variety of workplaces. In this course, you will learn the hazards associated while working in the heat and review Engineering and Work Practice Controls. We will also discuss how to recognize symptoms of Heat Exhaustion, Heat Stroke and Heat Rashes, and how to respond with the proper procedures to take in case there is an emergency.
