Course Description

Industrial Hygiene Basics is an essential course to take if you are concerned about the safety, health and general wellbeing of your co-workers and hazards that could affect them.

This is a one-day course that introduces industrial hygiene terminology and principles, as well as practical approaches for recognizing, evaluating and controlling common workplace hazards: chemicals, noise, radiation, thermal stress, and biological and ergonomic stressors. We’ll discuss basic anatomy and physiology, toxicology, hazard control, and recognition and evaluation of chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for entry-level industrial hygiene technicians, safety professionals and anyone who has industrial hygiene responsibilities.

Materials/CEU’s

A Participant Guide containing reference materials, case studies, and checklists is provided for each attendee. Participants will receive a course completion certificate upon successfully completing the course and will earn .65 CEUs from the Florida Chamber Safety Council.
