This course covers the requirements for the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of a respiratory protection program. Course topics include terminology, OSHA Respiratory Protection Standards, NIOSH classifications, respiratory protection program, and medical evaluation requirements. Program highlights include work assessment on respirator selection, qualitative and quantitative fit testing, and the use of respiratory protection and support equipment. Upon course completion students will have the ability to identify and describe the elements of a respiratory protection program, the proper selection, use, and inspection of respiratory protection. Students will be able to identify respiratory hazards, select the proper Personal Protective Equipment necessary to mitigate such hazards.

The Respiratory Protection course is designed for those individuals who will or are currently fulfilling roles where respiratory protection is required in either a Construction (OSHA 1926) or General Industry (OSHA 1910) environment. This course will also provide excellent benefits to any individual who currently supervises employees with potential exposure to respiratory hazards.
Participants will receive a course completion certificate and earn .5 Continuing Education Units from the Florida Chamber Safety Council. If applicable, participants will receive .5 Continuing Education Units from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DS/DW/WW02099010) upon successful completion of the course.
